19:26 Those skeleton remains in the roof were actually historically accurate. They had such an influx of bodies that needed to be buried that they began stashing the bones of previous burials into roofs and walls to make room for new burials
I don't think anyone's mentioned it, but the assassin in all black that you beat the snot out of, who then kills you at the end of the prologue, is actually the one that came the absolute closest to completely toppling the Templars while they were at their strongest. I mean the man even took a hit from the sword of Eden and was able to come to in roughly 15ish minutes to shank you after you left the crypt. The fact we don't have a game, or hell, even a book, about this mad lad named Thomas.....is insane
It's crazy just how good Unity is in terms of gameplay, level designs and graphics and that it is that old. ESPECIALLY compared to a LOT of modern day games.
It wasn’t the worst ac game just had a bad launch
They shegged this game releasing it on the exact same day as Rouge. They should have only dropped rouge, given unity an extra year to bake in the oven, and I bet it'd have been seen as one of the best in the franchise
16:04 The blue guards are the soldiers of the National Convention. The revolutionary French government. The red guards are Jacobin militants who were populist extremists. What this game fails to capture is that often times these two groups would be on the same side. During the Reign of Terror under Robespierre, the National Convention was controlled by Jacobin politicians. By the end of the Revolution, the monarchy would be restored over France. Both sides would lose.
So Kev is right. No factions win.
Ubisoft really made a game engine with perfect graphics, detailed and beautiful animations, the best parkour and stealth system yet and they just went "Nah, we're gonna make some RPG bullshit."
Two things this game needed.
Number one: let the devs finish it before release. This shouldn’t be controversial, delay, don’t rush.
Number 2: everyone needs to sound like Pepé Le Pew
To me this is one of the best ones because the combat was the best in the franchise they built on what 4 had while also allowing you to specialize in specific weaponry and on top of it all a multiplayer that let each assassin take on the mission in their own way my favorite memory of this game was taking on a mission to a big cathedral, heavily guarded, target deep in what was effectively a fortress the other 3 assassins I was teamed up with decided to take it a bit slow and scout out the place
I ran in with a musket beating people over the head on a bright red assassin outfit taking every guard within a mile of the area to fight me while making my way up culminating in getting the target to flee into the waiting arms of my brother assassin's in arms
Still one of my fave moments this game deserves so much more love than it gets
Dude, I love the idea of an Assassin acting like a child and just responding with answers like "NO!" and "Running!"
You Assassin's Creed videos are always so much fun. Thank you Kev!
you know what i never realized in the very beginning arno's father expected the poor lad to wait THREE HOURS for him to come back, no way he thought that would happen with no mischief
The Ubisoft memo is hilarious."In today's ultra-competitive market, players expect extraordinary experiences and ultra-polished games on Day 1." We need to take some time "to remove the small frictions we typically used to address in post-launch title updates." In other words, we have to get rid of game-breaking bugs before releasing the game because we can't coast on our reputation anymore. Blame the players.
This game had so much potential. I just wished they focused more on the French Revolution. I remember watching that Cinematic trailer, man i had high hopes for that game.
I just returned to play AC Unity a few days ago, and I actually really liked it, for a 10 year old game it looks better than most we have today
As he drinks from the cup, Arno realizes his mistake. He didn't become an Assassin, he became a Grey Warden!
Crazy how good the cutscenes and stories were back then compared to the slop they release nowadays
This game was a blast with a coop squad. While there was nowhere near enough content for multiplayer, tackling the available missions with your buddies was so much fun.
I wished they did more with that concept, it felt really refreshing back then.

Love how the two guys sitting swap places before starting their synchronized standing up animation
I’m actually taking a class about the French Revolution and I looked up a video about a historical figure and going a video on their AC counterpart. I had no idea that the game exists but now I’m going to buy it and play it co-op with my husband. I’d love to see and virtually be in these places as well as explore the storyline. I’m glad this video came out now coincidentally lol.
