The last few days of overlanding in Belize with our Toyota Tacoma and Fourwheel camper.

I'm visiting the Pine Ridge Mountain Reserve in western Belize with my Toyota Tacoma and custom Four wheel Camper Eagle. I have been driving around Belize for three weeks now and have seen just about everything is has to offer and this area is definitely the most remote you can get in this country.

With hundreds of kilometers of backroads of dirt, you can really get lost! I start out the drive from the entrance and visit a waterfall known as Big Rock Falls. One of the biggest falls i have seen in all of Belize it was a good way to start the trip! (But nowhere near as amazing as Mexico).

Driving further down the main road to the Rio On pools, a large area for visitors to enjoy has large natural fresh water pools with small waterfalls. Worth the stop as it also gave some nice views of the western highlands.

Further south, i visit what is one of my favorite places in all of Belize, the Rio Frio Cave. The cave has an opening of 30 meters and is larger than anything i have ever seen! the cave goes in roughly 300 meters to smaller exit that is difficult to get to. This cave was worth the entire trip to the Park.

There are also some smaller caves known as the Twin Caves just outside of Rio Frio that are also interesting to visit. What is super cool about the area is that there is an abandoned town at the entrance to Rio Frio. With over 25 buildings still standing and many of them intact, it was really interesting to see. I think that there may still be a few inhabitants in the area however.

Lastly, the visit to Pine Ridge wouldn't be complete without a Mayan city! The city of Caracol towers over the Belize landscape as it is the highest elevation Mayan city in the country. The city also boasts numerous massive (over 20m) Temples that not many other cities can claim. The views from the top of the highest temple are astounding and the remote city was worth the visit.

A month ago, before Travis left for Belize, Linsay headed for home in Belgium for medical reasons, check out that video on our channel. We don't have an answer one month in, so we decided that we would rather postpone the Pan-American trip for a few months and Travis would fly to Europe. So that's exactly what happened!

We are planning on doing traveling in Europe and possibly the United kingdom this summer, while we await diagnosis for Linsay and find out more about her condition!
