This is the longplay of the game Darius Twin, a horizontal shooter developed and distributed by TAITO as part of the Darius series, which originated in Arcades in 1987 and later went to consoles. This version of the Super Nintendo was released in 1991 and is completely original, although it has gameplay based on Darius II.

The story takes place on the fictional world of Darius, which was once a peaceful planet that was home to many different life forms. This planet was invaded by a race of star-hopping barbarians under the command of a galactic tyrant named Belser. The peaceful Dariusites were ill-prepared for such an invasion and most quickly fell. However, before the entire planet fell to Belser's rule, a courageous young couple, Proco and Tiat, led a resistance effort and managed to escape with many of their fellow Dariusites to sectors of space that were still free.

Centuries passed and the descendants of this resistance movement prospered and populated other planets, but Belser's forces continued to expand and conquer several planets. Inspired by the legends of Proco and Tiat, two of the Federation's best pilots now prepare their starships for the long galactic battle that awaits them. These ships, advanced technological miracles called Silver Hawks, are capable of transforming energy into powerful weapons and armaments.
