Very little is known about Raven's life before she broke into Xavier Mansion. However, from what she shares in X-Men and X-Men: The Last Stand, her early years were quite tragic. As a child, her mutation was so unusual that she was afraid to attend school. Moreover, her parents, also scared of her abilities, once attempted to kill her. After enduring years of abuse, Raven ultimately decided to run away.
