The Netflix Cowboy Bebop is a real mess, that's just the truth. But it's a fascinating mess! And buried deep in the stolen valor of Yoko Kanno's soundtrack and a mish-mash of plots from the anime, there are two really good episode of a live-action Cowboy Bebop.
It brings me no joy to say that because honestly, it just underscores what's so wrong with the rest of the live action show. Despite the good work John Cho, Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda put in as Spike, Jet, and Faye, the show just can't escape its bad writing and overwrought style choices. The dutch angles, gang!! They're too much!
