A few days ago, the American Ornithological Society revealed their plans to change the names of birds. In this video we discuss it.
Welcome back to Jabiru Stories, and thank you for watching a video that is somewhat different from our usual content. The AOS (which I repeatedly call ASO during the video, my apologies) announcement has sparked controversy in recent days. It's a topic I feel strongly about and I'm happy to be able to share my view in this video. I am encouraging you to share your perspective on the topic, as I feel that discourse is important on decisions like this one.
If you're alarmed by the sudden shift in format, don't be :) We're publishing a short birding trip video from Mexico on Friday, and then a slightly longer one in the week after. But this is what Jabiru Stories was always going to be:
