How to build a roller slide. I have built two homemade roller slides. This video shows how to build a backyard roller slide in a more economical way. These slides are popular at fall festivals. This guide shows all the steps on how to build this slide using 2" pvc pipe and treated lumber.Children love this slide. Sometimes this is called a rolling pipe slide. This method shows how to save a lot of money using this method. I’m an engineer building an amusement park in my backyard on a lake. Actually the paint did stick on rollers but I thought it wouldn’t in video. The 3/4” metal conduit is 3/4” OD. Called 1/2” steel conduit at Home Depot. Also make holes 3 1/4” apart for rollers. Just finished my third one. Also let treated wood dry out before starting and got small drill press from Harbor Freight to help drill holes. Made small stand to hold up the 16’ long 2x10 and 2x4 screwed together. Cut 1/2” conduit 6” long.
