The Chemical Engineering Behind Battery Recycling

Battery recycling methods vary: pyrometallurgy melts metals but loses materials and uses lots of energy, while hydrometallurgy uses acids to recover more but costs more and generates chemical waste. A third option, direct recycling, is emerging but still in early stages.
