In this video, we’re tackling one of the most iconic, fast-paced, and nerve-wracking levels in World 1 — 1-5: Canopy Cannons — with a time attack speedrun that pushes timing and reflexes to the absolute limit. 💥

🌴 ABOUT THE LEVEL – Canopy Cannons (1-5):
Canopy Cannons is a fan-favorite level for a reason: it combines tight platforming with rapid-fire barrel sequences that demand pixel-perfect timing. One wrong move and it's back to the start — and in Time Attack mode, there's no room for error.

Whether you're new to DKCR or a longtime Kong fan, this level is a rite of passage. The constant tension, the exhilarating barrel chains, the visual flair of the jungle canopies — it's all here, and in beautiful HD on the Switch version!

In this speedrun, I’m aiming for a Gold Medal (or better 😉), using some optimized paths, precise inputs, and a sprinkle of muscle memory.

🕹️ Tips for Speedrunning Canopy Cannons (1-5):

Learn the Cannon Patterns: Every millisecond counts. Start anticipating the moment you enter a cannon, not when you're in it.

Watch for Background Cues: Many barrel timings sync with visual background elements — use them to your advantage.

Hold Run the Entire Time: Obvious to pros, but newcomers forget this — DK has no brakes in time attack!

Jump Buffering: Practice landing and immediately jumping — this saves crucial frames between platforms.

Don’t Panic During Barrel Chains: You’ll be tempted to mash the fire button. Don’t. Calm timing always wins.

Practice Barrel Bounce Transitions: Especially near the end of the level — misjudging one can cost the whole run.
