2001 IRL Texas (2) - Close Racing, Last 10 Laps, and a Photo Finish

2001 Chevy 500 - The second Texas race of the 2001 IRL Season will most likely be remembered as the first IRL race to take place after the attacks on September 11th. The race, which was originally scheduled to take place on September 16th but was postponed until October 6th, was filled with tributes and a message of unity after that terrible day

On the track, the last 20 laps produced some close, tight race and an epic three-wide photo finish. 2000 was the first time that Texas became, well, the Texas that we came to love, and the 2001 season followed-up with some epic races too. This finish was incredible and capped off a memorable step in entertainment value for the IRL
