If you’re still reading this, I just want to say thank you for your support on these videos. At the time of this upload I have done transcriptions for 67 songs from this soundtrack. It is the longest and most challenging project I’ve done for YouTube and would not have been possible without your continued support over the past 6 months. Back in January when I uploaded my arrangement of “By Your Side.” I hadn’t even finished the prologue of the game yet but I liked the song so much that I stopped the game just to transcribe it. After completing the rest of the game and seeing the rest of the story I knew I couldn’t just do one song. Even though I love reading books and watching movies/shows, I still believe video games are my favorite medium for storytelling. OMORI is not necessarily the first work to depict themes like self-isolation, depression, and dissociative amnesia, but there’s something different about playing a game that covers these themes compared to reading or watching something that I’m not sure how to describe. It’s not often that I’ve experienced a game like this so I wanted to show my appreciation for OMOCAT and the development team through these piano arrangements. Playing songs from my favorite video games and films was what got me interested in piano, and it was because of other people who made tutorials and sheet music that I could learn how to play them. I hope I can pass it forward with these tutorials and sheet music that you may either find interest in learning a musical instrument or simply find greater enjoyment in video game and film soundtracks.
