In 1929, Mr. Tetsuzo Shiraishi was dispatched by the Ministry of Railways to the United States, Canada, and Europe as an overseas researcher, and left documentary footage for about two years. His daughter Setsuko kept the film. Let's enjoy a trip to North America in 1929 based on that 16mm.

New York, the glamorous skyscraper era had begun. The Empire State Building had just completed its exterior. But Wall Street was in the midst of a global depression called Black Thursday. It was a parade celebrating Independence Day on July 4th, but you can see how it has turned into a demonstration for jobs.
Mr.Shiraishi shooted elevated railways, overpasses, etc. were filmed from the perspective of a railway engineer.
