Abdomen, Trunk, Genital, and Pelvis Lymphedema and Swelling are common after surgery and radiation for various cancers, like Gynecologic, Melanoma, and others in the pelvis, abdomen, or lower body.

There is a lot of support for leg lymphedema treatment, but what about the pelvis and abdomen?

There are a few main ways we treat and reduce lymphedema in therapy, including:

▪️Compression- compression shorts or padded inserts that provide support.
▪️Lymphatic Drainage - using a specific sequence can help move the fluid out of the area. See my YouTube channel for a step-by-step video on this!
▪️Exercise- using your muscles and help pump the fluid out of the area.
▪️Deep breathing - this stimulates the deep lymphatics in the abdomen. Yes, There is a video for this, too!

But let's show a few specific exercises here to get fluid moving, including:

🔸Deep Breathing
🔸Trunk Rotation
🔸Pelvic tilts
🔸Bridges
OR! simply do movements or exercises that you enjoy! Anything counts!

Are you looking for more? You can find a lot of longer, free exercise routines on my YouTube channel 💁‍♀️
