　江戸時代後期の刀剣研究家鎌田魚妙（かまたなたえ）は彼の著作『新刀弁疑』において最上作の第一に助広を挙げその技量を褒め讃えている。精美な地鉄、大波が打ち寄せるような刃文はどこまでも白く、淡雪を思わせる純白の小沸が刃縁を覆い、しっとりと潤いある地鉄は七色の光彩を放って愛好家の心を虜にする。分けても丸津田と賞揚される延宝年間に鍛造された作品は殊に出来が優れ、他工の追随を許さぬ完成度の高さを誇っており、事実、重要美術品に指定されている多くの作品がこの延宝年紀の刻された丸津田銘の作品である。

Kamata Natae, a sword researcher from the late Edo period, praised Sukehiro's skill in his work "Shinto Bengi," ranking him first among the best craftsmen. The beautiful forged steel, the hamon (temper line) resembling great waves crashing, is brilliantly white. The pure white nie (martensite crystals) covering the edge reminds one of light snow, while the moist, lustrous steel emits seven-colored brilliance, captivating sword enthusiasts.
Particularly, the works forged during the Enpō era (1673-1681), praised as "Maru-Tsuda," are exceptionally well-made. They boast an unrivaled level of perfection that other craftsmen cannot match. In fact, many works designated as Important Art Objects bear the "Maru-Tsuda" signature with the Enpō era date.
