Panasonic FZ80: https://amzn.to/2wulBI0
Canon SX60-HS: https://amzn.to/2Nxv7k2

Quick comparison of two very popular superzoom bridge cameras — the Canon SX60-HS and Panasonic FZ80. The FZ80 is cheaper, newer, and higher specced but can the SX60-HS hold its own?

All clips filmed in full auto at 30fps and the highest possible resolution per respective camera. Photos were taken using "Auto" mode and highest resolution as well. All are unedited.

Great demonstration thanks. Looks like the Panasonic has a cooler color temperature, which I personally prefer.

@huyked

You did FANTASTIC in this comparison video, OMG! I wish everyone would do it like this. What I appreciate is how you simultaneously recorded the same footage when possible. Nice!
That 4K is what sold me on the Panasonic, even though Canon seemed to win in the color, especially for the flower closeups; but they weren't preferred all the time (to my eyes).
Now to see if I should buy the insanely cheap FZ80, though limited in zoom, or the P1000 that goes to 3000mm! Ugh! Decisions decisions.

@EchoRhythmMusic

I just bought a fz80 for a secondary camera (mainly for B roll, being there no external mic input) and I’m using for the first time in a couple days for an event I’m filming. Can’t wait to use it!

@alisontv.4575

Great comparison, that's much more helpful for many of us than the technical jargon, which at this price level has almost no sense since most people buying this camera are not professionals.

@granitestatevideotours5751

Gorgeous footage...especially the Panasonic

@ernestwatson4269

I have the FZ80 and it does even better video quality in different modes then what was shown here. The SX60 couldn't win despite it costing more too.

@wildmountainsky

I have owned both of these cameras. A quirk with the FZ80 was a lot of noise from the lens when zooming. Also, the auto focus was not very good. I now have an FZ300 and the focusing system is superior. The SX60 provided good video in daylight. However it struggled mightily in low light situations. Video became grainy. I would give the edge to the SX60 for photo quality.

@eagle1effi

I use B&W Polarizer on the SX60 and now SX70.
A good idea. And RAW Format CR2 for Photos. A great step forward in Image Quality.

@TheJ740

I LOVE IT. you capture amazing footages with both cameras.. Thats a Real comparison 👍

@fmacauliffe

I'm getting the Panasonic this Christmas. Can't wait!!

@hakye_hak

Is it good idea to use polarizer filter on GoPro hero 6 to improve footage?

@hishamelbatawi3014

Fz80 is a clear winner... how about fz300?

@LvfreeAdventures

Thanks, really good job and what exactly required when comparing cameras!

@danbilotto7785

have both cams, my observations regarding video shooting (don't care about photos) is the following; Panasonic have more details in lower zoom while becoming more blurry in long/max zoom, Canon did the opposite; foggy on short zoom, very clear on long/max zoom. Canon have better image stabilization on max zoom, Panasonic shakiness on max zoom is significant, the picture is waving and jumping so it is usable only on a tripod. Canon have more zoom, digital 85x is absolutely clear and usable, 104x is ok and is equivalent to digital 2000 mm on Panasonic! Canon has better build quality, better battery and quieter mechanism. In low light Canon fail (too much high iso) while Pana is decent.

@allcheckout

Thanks - nice comparison. Sometimes Canon is sharper - sometimes Panasonic, but Canon has warmer colors and more natural I think ... BTW: The Panasonic says it has a 120x optical zoom with limited resolution ... isn't that actually same as a digital zoom? Have you ever tried it?

@matthewlong3716

For the decent IQ, 4K video, price and others features Panasonic really knocked it out of the park with the FZ80.

@winkipinky

Well colors look a bit nicer in the Canon than the FZ8 (but that can be fixed in video editing software), but the CANON is so blurry and over processed... deal breaker for me. Thank you for the video, very useful!

@jaxw2628

The Panasonic is definitely better quality.

@MrEdxwx

for video panasonic wins , for photos canon

@helmski

Canon color science does not make up for soft 1080p.
