Ayyyy whats up guys! It’s been like 6 months since I’ve uploaded my last original. And as anyone can guess, I’ve been making some more OG songs 👀

Honestly, I wasn’t gonna upload an original song for a while. I felt as if no one wanted to see my original songs. But I looked back on the comments and how much you guys enjoyed listening to what I’d make if it wasn’t just remixes and remasters. And the support you guys give is amazing. Always is. So I decided hey, I’ll upload one just to show em I’m not giving up on originals.

Now you might be thinking, Epoch? Typho, why did you name this song that?

Now the reason I’ve named it Epoch, I will keep mostly personal but, an Epoch, according to the Oxford Languages Dictionary is, “a period of time in history or a person’s life, typically one marked by notable events or particular characteristics…”

These past few years have been the most defining of my entire life. I’ve found who I am, who I aspire to be, and what I dream for. I’ve realized that since this is such a big chapter of my life, I probably won’t just brush it off like the rest of my life. I’ll always remember these years as the time that I became who I am.

As for the song itself, I chose a more, tense tone… but somewhat sad and angry. The way I chose to convey anger was with that extremely harsh bass. I feel like that bass just destroys itself, and that’s what I did with my life. I’ve destroyed my past failures, my past mistakes, and learned from them, and will keep learning from them. Regret will never leave me, but I can choose to live with it, or sulk. And I choose to move forward and live with my past. And I’ve become stronger because of that. This song is meant to represent a new chapter in my life. I truly do feel like I am in a new era of my life, entering my 20s soon, going to college, all things that are extremely defining as a character in this world. I feel like I’ve defined what my music is, my original music that is… It has its own style that I am enjoying for now. I may end up changing it as time goes on and as my mindset changes. We shall see.

I gotta say though, that lead synth. I COULDNT find a sound that i thought fit the feeling of the song. So I just made it myself haha. I used a synthesizer I don’t usually use and just started experimenting til I came up with something I enjoyed. But for now, I’ll leave the rest up to interpretation. Cuz every sound in this song has meaning behind it. Just depends on how you see fit.
