One brilliant detail about Sans' design I think many people tend to overlook is his permanent grin. Like, he's a skeleton, so he can't possibly frown or express any other emotion with his face. So when he starts remembering all the deaths of his friends... (1:12 and onward) yeah, there's probably a maelstrom of emotions behind that unmovable grin.

This remembers me of the possible fact that the reason why the Elevator to New Home is in use is Sans taking It instead of teleporting to reach his hall, even in Genocide. Maybe because he wants to take the panoramic route one last time, because he well knows he's not gonna pass that moment.
