Also: If the STUDENT is not getting the loan so they can get an education to earn money, then they shouldn't be getting the loan. Maybe the SBA can educate the students on financial responsibility.

A student loan is like a business loan. Unfortunately their business plan SUCKS. The SBA also has experience in collecting debt and also has experience in lending money. The department of education only has experience in making sure loans are made. They don't care if the loan is for a degree that has zero marketability.

I think those big colleges should receive no Federal funding or Grants. Big Colleges should be hit hard taxes.

I agree, end student loans. The government is a freaking bank. Get a loan through a local bank or you parents. If you can't, join the military and get paid to be educated.

I fucked up and took out student loans when i was 25 and couldn't keep moving up the ladder at work as a college drop out. It was a mistake but it was my mistake. Although i think the interest rates are predatory, it was still my mistake. I gotta pay that back.

The other reason it's a good idea is that the SBA already has a strong loan processing and collections department so its a good home functionally.

The most infuriating thing of Trump's first term was allowing Betsy DeVos (wife of Richard DeVos) who hold the majority of student debt..... I'm grateful he apologized for his first cabinet members.

I agree, this guys student loan is a waste. In eliminating the Dept of Ed. Someone needed to oversee student loans. Student loans are almost if not entirely impossible to pay off.
